SUPPORTING YOUR JOURNEY
Reflexology for Fertility & Pregnancy | Cheltenham & Cotswolds
Wherever you are on your path to motherhood - trying to conceive, navigating IVF, growing your baby or recovering after birth - reflexology offers something medicine often can't: time, presence, intention and a body that feels supported.
Wherever you are on your journey, there's a place for reflexology.
Trying to conceive naturally
Regular reflexology can help regulate your hormones, support more predictable cycles and create the conditions your body needs to conceive — by reducing the stress load that so often stands in the way.
During pregnancy
Pregnancy reflexology focuses on calming your nervous system, easing common discomforts and helping your body feel safe and supported as it prepares for birth. Many clients find it one of the few things that genuinely helps them rest.
Going through IVF
IVF is physically and emotionally demanding. Reflexology can't change the outcome — but it can help you feel calmer, more grounded and more at home in your body during a process that can feel overwhelming and out of your control.
After birth
The postnatal period is one of the most hormonally turbulent of a woman's life — and one of the least supported. Reflexology can help with post-birth recovery, hormonal rebalancing, sleep deprivation and the physical toll of feeding and carrying a newborn.
Does any of this resonate with you?
✔︎ You've been trying to conceive for a while and your body feels out of sync with itself
✔︎ You're going through IVF and feeling hopeful, exhausted and hormonal all at once
✔︎ You're pregnant and looking for something gentle, safe and genuinely relaxing
✔︎ You've recently given birth and your body is recovering, your hormones are all over the place and sleep feels like a distant memory
✔︎ You want to do something kind for your body during one of the most demanding seasons of your life
Reflexology isn't a magic solution — and I'll never promise you one. But it is a genuinely powerful way to support your body, calm your nervous system and feel a little less like you're doing this completely alone.
HOW REFLEXOLOGY HELPS
It won't do the work of medicine. But it will do something medicine rarely has time for.
Fertility, pregnancy and early motherhood are times when your hormonal system is working harder than at almost any other point in your life. Stress, anxiety and physical tension add load to a system that's already under significant demand — and that's where reflexology comes in.
By stimulating the reflex points that correspond to your endocrine glands — ovaries, adrenals, thyroid, pituitary — reflexology encourages hormonal regulation and nervous system calm. Weekly sessions have shown me that this can help optimise conditions for conception, support a calmer pregnancy and aid recovery after birth.
This is complementary care — it works alongside your medical team, not instead of them. I'll always work in full awareness of where you are in your journey and adjust your treatment accordingly.

"After pregnancy and breastfeeding for 9 months, my shoulders were really tight and I was struggling to loosen them up with exercises. My shoulders were so much less tight and my posture was so much better immediately after treatment. Something to this reflexology malarkey, eh?"

"I was feeling incredibly desperate undergoing IVF treatment. Immediately after the session I felt like someone had removed a weighted vest from me — lighter, in less pain, and much calmer. I had the best night's sleep in almost two weeks."

Yes — reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that is safe throughout pregnancy when carried out by a qualified practitioner. I adjust the treatment at every stage of your pregnancy and am always guided by how you're feeling on the day. If you are under 12 weeks, have any specific concerns or a high-risk pregnancy, please let me know before booking and I'm happy to discuss.

I won't make that promise — and you should be wary of any practitioner who does. What I can say, from years of working with women on their conception journeys, is that reflexology can help regulate hormones, support more predictable cycles and significantly reduce the stress load that often plays a role in delayed conception. It's a supportive therapy, not a medical intervention — and it works best as part of a broader approach to your health.
-
Yes — many of my clients use reflexology as a complementary support during IVF. I'll always work in full awareness of where you are in your cycle and protocol, and adjust treatment accordingly. Some clinics actively encourage complementary therapies during IVF; others prefer you wait until after egg transfer. If in doubt, check with your clinic first.

Generally from around six weeks postnatal, though every birth and recovery is different. If you've had a straightforward birth you may feel ready sooner; after a caesarean or complicated delivery it's worth waiting until you feel physically comfortable. Get in touch and we can have a conversation about what's right for you.
FAQs
-
Reflexology can be a genuinely supportive tool in the postnatal period — calming the nervous system, supporting hormonal rebalancing and providing an hour of care that's entirely for you. It isn't a treatment for postnatal depression and should never replace professional medical support if you're struggling. But as a complement to that support, many new mothers find it one of the most restorative things they do for themselves.

You absolutely can start with a single session - and many clients do. But reflexology has a cumulative effect: each session builds on the last, and the body needs consistent input to genuinely shift its old patterns rather than temporarily relax. Six weekly sessions gives your body a headstart to make lasting change. Think of it less like a one-off day at the gym and more like a course of weekly PT sessions (except we work on your nervous system rather than your abs) The results compound over time.
