Chrissy came to reflexology through her own experience of workplace stress. After a high-pressure corporate career and a serious health crisis that reflexology helped her recover from - she retrained as a specialist reflexologist with a particular focus on stress, hormonal health and nervous system regulation.
She understands what chronic workplace stress does to the body because she's lived it. That makes her uniquely placed to support the kind of teams that are genuinely under pressure - not just looking for a lunchtime treat.

Upon booking your first treatment, you'll need to complete a new client form online which will ask questions about your health, diet and lifestyle, explain any recent or long standing illnesses, what medication you may be taking and your reason for seeking reflexology. This not only maximises our appointment time but also flags any contra-indications. All your personal data will be treated in accordance with GDPR and will remain totally confidential.
It’s best to wear loose, comfy clothing and trousers that can be pushed up towards your calves as reflexes are worked across the top, bottom and sides of the foot as well as the lower part of the leg.
Although I will focus on reflexes linked to any health concerns you have, your first treatment will be exploratory. All main body systems will be covered in order to detect imbalances that will help me devise a treatment plan specific to your needs.
The treatment will start with some relaxation techniques to open up the reflexes. This will be followed by the application of gentle pressure using specific finger and thumb techniques across the reflexes. I work on one foot at a time.
During the treatment most people feel relaxed and may fall asleep. You may feel tingling sensations in different parts of the body. This is normal. You may also feel discomfort or tenderness in reflexes that show an imbalance.
Some clients may experience what is known as a healing reaction. This is the body's way of dealing with the toxins that are released during a treatment and may include feeling tired, thirsty, nauseous, energetic, increased bowel movements etc. This is a normal reaction and part of the healing process. Symptoms shouldn't last longer than 24 hours. Drinking plenty of water after your treatment will help this process.

Reflexology is a very gentle and relaxing therapy, however discomfort can sometimes be felt when I work on reflexes that are out of balance. We often to refer to it as dissolving grain-like crystals but by the act of dispersing them aids your body's own detoxification process until homeostasis (balance) is restored.

Reflexology is non-invasive and so very safe and enjoyable. Most people experience positive feelings after a treatment, however it is entirely normal to feel sleepy or groggy.

This really depends on your individual circumstances as everyone is different.
Weekly or fortnightly treatments are ideal for those suffering from active illness, where symptoms are negatively impacting their quality of life. Or perhaps those seeking a natural way to boost fertility for conception. For just maintaining good health then one treatment every 1-2 months is recommended.
The key with Reflexology is consistency (eg: ideally performed the same day/time of every week/month), as our bodies - like nature - run in cycles and rhythms.
Together we will review and revise your treatment plan at regular intervals to suit your needs.

The reflexologist applies firm but gentle pressure which prevents the feet from being ticklish.
Hand treatments can be provided for those who have contraindications like foot injuries or for those who wish to just have hand treatments however, foot reflexology has been shown to be more effective.

In the interest of hygiene please ensure your feet and/or hands are clean prior to treatment.
Treating children under age 16, the parent/guardian must remain in the room at all times.
If you are a smoker, please refrain from smoking at least one hour prior to your treatment.
There is free road parking but I do not have a waiting area, so anyone accompanying you will need to wait in your car or walk to the village and back.
