FEEL LIKE YOURSELF AGAIN

Reflexology for Hormones & Perimenopause in Cheltenham & the Cotswolds

Specialist reflexology for hormones, perimenopause and the vagus nerve responses that come with them. For women who suspect something has shifted hormonally — but haven't been able to get answers, or simply don't know where to start.

Perimenopause can start in your late 30’s - and it rarely looks like what you'd expect.

Most women picture hot flushes and missed periods. But for many, perimenopause arrives much earlier and much more quietly — as brain fog, joint pain, sudden anxiety, disturbed sleep or a feeling of just not being quite right that they can't explain to anyone, including their GP.

If you've been dismissed, told your bloods are normal, or simply felt too young to be perimenopausal — you're not alone. And you're not imagining it.

Does this sound like you?

✔︎ Your cycles have become irregular, heavier, more painful or more difficult than they used to be

✔︎ Brain fog has crept in — you're losing words, forgetting things and struggling to concentrate

✔︎ You're waking at 3am, struggling to fall back to sleep and exhausted despite going to bed on time

✔︎ Your joints ache, you have palpitations, or you've developed new allergies that appeared from nowhere

✔︎ You've developed a sudden anxiety you didn't have before — like feeling unsafe driving at night

✔︎ Your mood is unpredictable — tearful, irritable or low in your luteal phase in a way that feels out of character

✔︎ You've been told your bloods are fine — but you know your body, and something has changed

These aren't random symptoms. They're your hormones shifting — and your body asking for support. Reflexology won't replace medical care, but it can do something medicine often can't: work with your whole system to help it regulate itself.

Reflexology session focused on vagus nerve and nervous system regulation

HOW REFLEXOLOGY HELPS

How reflexology supports the vagus nerve in perimenopause.

During perimenopause, fluctuating oestrogen and progesterone disrupt almost every system in your body - not just your cycle. Your nervous system, your sleep architecture, your stress response/vagal tone, your digestion and your mood are all affected by the same hormonal shifts.

Reflexology works by stimulating the reflex points on your feet that correspond to your endocrine glands - including the ovaries, adrenals, thyroid and pituitary. This encourages your hormonal system to communicate more effectively, while simultaneously calming the nervous system that's been dysregulated by the transition.

It works beautifully alongside HRT if you're on it, and equally well if you're not. My approach is never to tell you what to do - it's to understand where you are and support your body from there.

WHAT YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Brain fog lifting and sharper concentration returning.

CALMER LUTEAL PHASE

Less PMS, fewer mood swings and more emotional steadiness.

CALMS THE VAGUS NERVE

That out-of-nowhere sense of doom and anxiety beginning to settle.

FEELING LIKE THEMSELVES

Recognising themselves again — in their body and their mood.

FAQs

  • Perimenopause can begin as early as the late 30s, though most women notice changes in their early to mid 40s. It's one of the most commonly missed diagnoses in women's healthcare - partly because the symptoms are so varied and partly because many GPs aren't yet trained to recognise it early. If something has shifted in how you feel and your cycle, it's worth exploring. You don't need a formal diagnosis to benefit from reflexology.

  • Yes and these are often the symptoms that respond most noticeably. Brain fog, joint aches, palpitations, vertigo and new anxieties are all common but under-discussed perimenopause symptoms caused by fluctuating oestrogen & progesterone affecting multiple body systems simultaneously. Reflexology works across all of those systems rather than targeting one in isolation, which is why clients often notice improvements they weren't expecting.

  • Absolutely not. My role is to support your body - not to tell you what to do with it. HRT is a personal decision and one I have no agenda around. Some of my clients are on HRT and find reflexology enhances its effects. Others prefer not to take it and find reflexology provides meaningful relief on its own. I'll meet you exactly where you are.

  • Many clients report more regular, less painful cycles after a course of sessions - including significant reductions in cycle length where periods have become very infrequent. Results vary from person to person, but cycle regulation is one of the most commonly reported outcomes among clients who come to me with hormonal concerns.

  • Yes - and this is one of the most frustrating situations my clients arrive in. Hormone blood tests can appear normal even when you're perimenopausal, because levels fluctuate significantly hour-to-hour. If you know something has changed in how you feel, that lived experience is valid regardless of what a blood test shows. Reflexology works with your body as it is right now - not as a number on a chart.

  • You absolutely can start with a single session - and many clients do. But reflexology has a cumulative effect: each session builds on the last, and the nervous system needs consistent input to genuinely shift its patterns rather than temporarily relax. Six weekly sessions gives your body the momentum it needs to make lasting change. Think of it less like a one-off day at the gym and more like a course of weekly PT sessions (except we work on your nervous system rather than your abs) The results compound over time.

  • Sovereign, Paycare and Bupa now all cover reflexology treatments. I can provide a detailed receipt including my professional credentials for your claim. Please check your individual policy and contact your insurer directly before booking to confirm what they require.
