Reflexology for Hormones & Perimenopause in Cheltenham & the Cotswolds
For women who suspect something has shifted hormonally — but haven't been able to get answers, or simply don't know where to start.
FEEL LIKE YOURSELF AGAIN
Perimenopause can start in your late 30’s - and it rarely looks like what you'd expect.
Most women picture hot flushes and missed periods. But for many, perimenopause arrives much earlier and much more quietly — as brain fog, joint pain, sudden anxiety, disturbed sleep or a feeling of just not being quite right that they can't explain to anyone, including their GP.
If you've been dismissed, told your bloods are normal, or simply felt too young to be perimenopausal — you're not alone. And you're not imagining it.
Does this sound like you?
✔︎ Your cycles have become irregular, heavier, more painful or more difficult than they used to be
✔︎ Brain fog has crept in — you're losing words, forgetting things and struggling to concentrate
✔︎ You're waking at 3am, struggling to fall back to sleep and exhausted despite going to bed on time
✔︎ Your joints ache, you have palpitations, or you've developed new allergies that appeared from nowhere
✔︎ You've developed a sudden anxiety you didn't have before — like feeling unsafe driving at night
✔︎ Your mood is unpredictable — tearful, irritable or low in your luteal phase in a way that feels out of character
✔︎ You've been told your bloods are fine — but you know your body, and something has changed
These aren't random symptoms. They're your hormones shifting — and your body asking for support. Reflexology won't replace medical care, but it can do something medicine often can't: work with your whole system to help it regulate itself.
HOW REFLEXOLOGY HELPS
This is no foot massage. It's your nervous system getting a reset.
When you're chronically stressed, your body is locked in fight-or-flight mode — pumping out cortisol, keeping you on high alert, making genuine rest feel impossible. Over time this takes a serious toll: on your sleep, your digestion, your hormones, your mood and your immune system.
Reflexology works by stimulating specific points on the feet that correspond to every organ, gland and system in the body. This signals your nervous system to shift out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest — the state where your body can actually repair, regulate and recover.
Most clients notice a difference from the very first session. With regular treatment, the effects become cumulative — better sleep, calmer reactions, less physical tension and a greater sense of being back in control of how you feel.
WHAT YOU MIGHT NOTICE
After a course of sessions, clients often tell me they feel:
LIGHTER
Like a weight has been lifted they didn't realise they were carrying.
LESS REACTIVE
More space between the trigger and the response.
SLEEPING THROUGH
Nodding off more easily and staying asleep for longer.
MORE PRESENT
Calmer, more mindful and actually able to enjoy the moment.
PHYSICALLY EASIER
IBS, headaches and tension easing as stress reduces.

STEP 2
Not sure if you're ready to commit to six sessions?
That's completely understandable. The FAQs below might help. Or you're welcome to start with a single session first at £70 to experience reflexology with Chrissy before deciding. Most people book the Foundation Series after their first consultation.
FAQs
-
Yes, and there's a physiological reason why. Chronic stress keeps your nervous system locked in fight-or-flight mode, which affects everything from your sleep and digestion to your hormones and immune system. Reflexology stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (our rest-and-digest response) giving your body the conditions it needs to regulate itself. Most clients notice a tangible shift in how they feel from their very first session.
-
Many clients feel noticeably calmer, lighter and more themselves within 24 hours of their first session. For longer-standing stress and anxiety, the real shift tends to happen between sessions three and four - which is why the Foundation Series of 6x weekly sessions is designed to create lasting, cumulative change rather than a temporary fix.
-
Yes - and this is one of the things that surprises clients most. Because reflexology works on the whole body rather than just one system, the physical symptoms of stress often ease alongside the emotional ones. Clients regularly report improvements in IBS, tension headaches, disrupted sleep and general physical tightness after a course of sessions.
-
This is one of the most common things I hear - and one of the most satisfying to work with. The beauty of reflexology is that you don't need to actively relax for it to work. Your nervous system responds to the treatment whether your mind is racing or not. Most clients who arrive wound tight leave feeling genuinely calm - often surprising themselves. A number of my most anxious clients are now my most devoted regulars.
-
Absolutely - reflexology works beautifully alongside conventional healthcare including medication, CBT and talking therapies. It's not an alternative to medical treatment; it's a complement to it. I work with many clients who are also under the care of their GP or a therapist, and the two approaches support each other well. If you have any specific concerns, feel free to get in touch before booking.
-
You absolutely can start with a single session - and many clients do. But reflexology has a cumulative effect: each session builds on the last, and the nervous system needs consistent input to genuinely shift its patterns rather than temporarily relax. Six weekly sessions gives your body the momentum it needs to make lasting change. Think of it less like a one-off day at the gym and more like a course of weekly PT sessions (except we work on your nervous system rather than your abs) The results compound over time.
-
Yes - burnout is essentially the end result of sustained nervous system overload, and reflexology is one of the most effective tools for beginning to reverse it. Clients in burnout often find that even the first session gives them a level of rest they haven't been able to access on their own. Recovery from burnout takes time, which is why the Foundation Series followed by monthly maintenance sessions is particularly well-suited to this situation.
